In a statement on their website yesterday, GFW announced

GFW has concluded its internal consideration of the events surrounding the suspension of Alberto El Patron. While it is apparent that initial reports unfairly characterized El Patron’s involvement in the incident in the Orlando airport, we are nonetheless disappointed with the manor (sic) in which he dealt with this situation; we expect more decorum from all on the GFW roster, especially the World Champion.

We have communicated with El Patron our decision to strip him of his championship title. No decision has been taken as to the date on which he will be reinstated to the roster, the conditions of which are a private matter between the company and El Patron.

Alberto el Patron issued the following statement via Instagram

This is a positive guys I promise. Please treat it like such! God bless everyone and I hope you all have a great day! 🙏🏼

F4WOnline is speculating that him being stripped of the title wouold indicate he will not be appearing at the Impact Wrestling this week. GFW is scheduled to film tv up tp Bound For Glory and if Alberto is not at the tapings you would expect he would not be part of the championship match at the companies biggest show of the year. Rumors after he won the title was that he was expected to have a championship run into next year.

GFW released the following statement regarding the championship.
