Former TNA champion Ken Anderson publicly announced to the crowd at a recent Insane Championship Wrestling show in Scotland that he no longer works for Impact Wrestling.

PW Insider reported yesterday that this development came after the Bethlehem, Pennsylvania tapings in early January were due to backstage behavior. Anderson has yet to comment on his release other than the promo above.

It should be noted that a report from Ryan Satin’s Pro Wrestling Sheet website insists that the 40-year-old Anderson was fired after he failed a drug test.

According to their report, a match between Eric Young and Anderson was taped for the January 19 episode of Impact. But Anderson looked so bad in the ring they had to remove it from the show.  Reportedly following the match, TNA officials then immediately made Ken Anderson take the drug test which he failed and was sent home.

The original segment saw Anderson challenge Eric Young for the King of the Mountain title but then get attacked by Bram causing a DQ finish until Beer Money make the save. What actually aired on the episode that week in its place was a backstage segment with The Wolves and Beer Money in which The Decay attacked The Wolves and this was followed by a match with Beer Money versus Jesse and Eli Drake which was taped another day and spliced in.

Impact Wrestling, similar to Anderson, has not made an official comment on the situation
