TMZ has a story that claims sources close to Sting are saying that the 56-year-old 2016 WWE Hall of Famer is hanging up the boots. According to their article, this comes after the latest medical evaluation on his neck. The injury occurred last September in his match with Seth Rollins at Night of Champions. They say Sting has been diagnosed with the condition cervical spinal stenosis. This is the same condition that caused Edge and Stone Cold Steve Austin to retire as well.

Many assumed after the match with Rollins that Sting had wrestled for the last time. It seems like now we have official confirmation. There’s some rumbling that Sting may make an official retirement announcement at next month’s Hall of Fame ceremony in Dallas Texas. Reportedly, Sting is still open to working in a nonphysical role in WWE. Although , it is unclear what that would be at the moment.
