Rumors surfaced a few weeks ago that Netflix was considering a series by “Weeds” and “Orange Is the New Black” creator Jenji Kohan dealing with the personalities and drama surrounding the 1980s wrestling phenomenon known as the “Gorgeous Ladies of Wrestling”.a.k.a. G. L. O. W. Well, Deadline confirmed that the 10 episode comedy series entitled simply “G. L. O. W.” will be coming to the streaming service. The show will be focused on the story of an out of work actress in LA who gets mixed up in the world of women’s wrestling.

Created by Liz Flahive (Homeland) and Carly Mensch (Orange Is the New Black) , they will also serve as executive producers/showrunners of the series with Jenji Kohan being an executive producer as well.

For those uninitiated with G. L. O. W. it was a wrestling series in which women with gimmick names not only competed in the ring but took part in comedy skits. The show itself ran for about four seasons in syndication before being canceled. If you really want to know more about the promotion, there was a great 2013 documentary called simply “GLOW: The Story of the Gorgeous Ladies of Wrestling” in which they caught up with former talents and talked about the glory days.

I will post the trailer for that down below
