WWE.com officially announced the following to no one’s surprise:

WWE has granted Eden (wife of Cody Rhodes) her request to be released, as of today, May 24, 2016. WWE wishes Eden the best in all her future endeavors.

Many were expecting this news considering how her husband Cody Rhodes requested his release due to frustration with the creative process. She worked this past Sunday’s Extreme Rules doing ring announcing. This was actually her second tenure with the company. She requested her release in December 2011 after announcing on WWE Superstars following a tenure through developmental as a wrestler. Brandi would return in 2013 along with her brother-in-law Goldust a.k.a. Dustin Rhodes. Brandi would train as a wrestler once again but would be assigned to ring announcing duties on Smackdown, backstage interviews and a video blog on the WWE website.

Rhodes wrote, “What I’ve been teasing for weeks: I’ve been offered a new opportunity outside of WWE!! So I’ve decided to part w/ WWE after tonight.”

She also noted she would continue updating her website BeingBrandiRhodes.com and advised fans to follow her there for additional updates.
